293: Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness -with Larry Sharpe

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We've heard that phrase since elementary school as we learned about our nation's founding. The ideas of liberty are intoxicating for those empathetic to the ideas of individual rights, however, is liberty our end goal? Returning to the program is Larry Sharpe who argues that liberty is simply a means to an end, would that end goal being that of accomplishing a subjective happiness based on the ability to reach that happiness individually. "When I know I am unhappy, or I am not doing the right thing, all my problems aren't solved, it's a whole lot easier for me to go and go, I'm gonna be the savior of everything else. Because then if my life begins to collapse, I can claim martyrdom.
