#296 The Woman in White 4 (Penguin Readers)
from 克萊兒説文法 · host 老克
The Woman in White 4 Marian informed Hartright that Laura received an anonymous letter telling her don't marry Sir Percival. Marian and Hartright went to village primary school to ask teachers of any memory of a certain Anne Catherick. One teacher recalled one boy ran into classroom saying he just saw a ghost at the church graveyard. Hartright went to the graveyard to investigate. Found out it was nobody else but Anne Catherick who went to clean the tombstone of Mrs. Fairlie. Hartright disclosed that he knew Anne was locked away in a private asylum. Anne and her chaperon Mrs. Clemens left early next morning to London. Hartright was leaving Limmeridge. Marian promised to keep contact. Laura sent Hartright the rose painting drawn in her first drawing lessons by Hartright. Philip Fairlie invited solicitor Gilmore. Gilmore professionally processed the inheritance paper of Fairlie family. Sir Percival Glyde had lots of debts. Glyde refused to let his fiancee give away her annual subsidiary. Gilmore finally had to consent to what Glyde's solicitor requested. -- Hosting provided by SoundOn
