297 The Publius Enigma - A Pink Floyd Internet Puzzle
from Art and Jacob Do America · host Art and Jacob
This week we cover one of, if not the first, internet games/puzzles. In 1994 Pink Floyd released their final album, "The Division Bell". Concurrently, either the band, or their record label, or both, inserted clues into their music, album artwork, light shows, and media promotions that if solved would lead to some sort of "prize". To guide fans, an anonymous poster name "Publius" would drop cryptic vague hints on how to solve this puzzle. These vague 'drops' would send fans down multiple rabbit holes .....much like ANOTHER anonymous poster would do 22 years later (Q anon?) . As of this episode the puzzle remains unsolved but that doesn't stop people from dedicating their lives to figuring out this puzzle......listen as we crack the code ...maybe..
