The Woman in White 7 6 18 Gilmore's business partner, Mr. Kyrle, has replied Mariam that Laura must not sign any paper prior to their inspection. Returning to Blackwater Part, Fosco nudged Glyde to go to library to have discussion. Fosco persuaded Glyde to stop pushing Laura into signing paper immediately. Laura returned from boathouse saying she had met Anne Catherick who told her to meet her again in the boathouse. Catherick told Laura she will reveal Glyde's most dark secret. 6 19 Glyde didn't return as he promised. Laura went to boathouse but when Marian caught up she couldn't find Laura. Marian went back to Blackwater to find Laura had been lock up by Glyde. Glyde fired Laura's maiden servant Fanny, whom had been temporarily put in an inn in the village. Eleanor came to stare and warn Laura not to say anything more. Turned out Catherick had been followed by Fosco all the time so Catherick hid a piece of paper under sand. The paper said Catherick is going to tell Glyde's secret next time they meet. Marian wrote one letter to Kyrle and a second letter to Mr. Fairlie and walked to Fanny's inn for her to fetch to the two men. Upon returning to Blackwater, Marian found Fosco had been following her all the way. Glyde wished to speak to Fosco privately. Marian climbed on top of the verandah to overhear what the two men say. The two men discussed their financial crises. Glyde vowed to catch Anne Catherick who in turn will ruin his reputation.
