29th September 2025- Understanding Infant Baptism- Neil Todman

from Sermons from Philip Street Chapel Bristol

In this podcast, Pastor Neil Todman follows up on his Sunday morning sermon from the Life with Jesus series on baptism. He didn't have time to consider why people baptise infants and babies rather than older people on their own profession of faith. In the podcast he talks about the hypocrisy of having a Christening as an excuse for a party and also how it is possible to sincerely baptise a child yet have such an inaccurate theology of God or regeneration that the baptism isn't sufficient for coming into membership in our church. However in the final section he looks at those who are Bible-believing Christians who believe the same gospel of Jesus Christ that we do, yet put the sign of baptism before conversion rather than afterwards as we do.
