After this week's drop, sharing the story of El Dog and the Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club, we figured it would be great to have some guests on the show from the riding club to share their stories and experiences from their years in the area.Tune in to hear Darrin Ferrell and Lee Cannady talk about how the club has changed their lives and many others' for the better.Darrin is the Vice President of FSURC and the son of the founder, Ellis "Eldog" Ferrell. Darrin has no recollection of when his dad first put him on a horse, but he remembers riding independently at the age of 5 years old. Darrin tends to all the daily needs of the horses, youth, and the maintenance of the stables. He's a skilled carpenter by trade in South Philly and hand-built all the stalls and the tack room at the stables with donated wood. He's affectionately known as "Unc" or Uncle D to the kids. Darrin and his dad are the two constant male figures to the youth at FSURC. Darrin's love for horses and kids creates a happy and nurturing environment at FSURC, where his passion and dedication truly shines. Darrin hopes to take over his dad's reigns and preserve his legacy. Lee is one of the board members at FSURC, he grew up near FS and gives credit to Eldog for the trajectory of his life. Here's an article that gives some insight of his journey.https://www.eastcoastequestrian.net/news/urban-stable.phpDonatewebsite: www.fsurc.comLinktree https://linktr.ee/FletcherstreeturbanridingclubOUR WEBSITE: https://2lanelife.com/  USE CODE: "YOUTUBE" FOR 10% OFF OF PARTS & ACCESSORIES2LANELIFE INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/2lanelife/GAYLIN'S INSTAGRAM - https://www.instagram.com/xerox57/LANCE'S INSTAGRAM - https://www.instagram.com/biglancec/Want to SAVE on EagleRider Rentals? - CLICK HEREABOUT 2LANELIFEWe travel the country on our Harley-Davidson motorcycles, exploring some of the best roads the country has to offer. The Highwaymen Daily Maverick In December 2022, the 55th – and possibly last – elective conference of South Africa’s ruling African National Congress will take place against a backdrop of socio-political chaos. In this new limited audio documentary series by Daily Maverick, investigative journalists Richard Poplak and Diana Neille take a road trip across South Africa in search of answers to how the country got to this breaking point, and how the lives and careers of three senior ANC figures – Ace Magashule, Gwede Mantashe and Dr Zweli Mkhize – may be representative of the rise and stumble of our once vaunted democratic project and, by extension, liberal democracies everywhere. In the annals of country music history, few collaborations have captured the imagination quite like The Highwaymen. Comprised of four of the genre's most iconic figures - Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson - this supergroup represented the pinnacle of outlaw country music and left an indelible mark on the landscape of American music. The Formation of a Legend The story of The Highwaymen begins in 1984, when Johnny Cash invited Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson to join him in Montreux, Switzerland, to film a televised tribute to Cash's 30-year career. The chemistry between these four legends was immediately apparent, and it wasn't long before the idea of a collaborative project began to take shape. The group's name was inspired by the Jimmy Webb-penned song "Highwayman," which tells the story of a soul with incarnations in four different places in time and history. This song would become the title trac Bladys of the Stewponey by Sabine Baring-Gould. AudioBooks Bladys of the Stewponey by Sabine Baring-Gould.  This story is set in England in the days when women were regarded as having a low status, highwaymen and murder were common and people were executed for trivial offences.  The novel is based on two historical events:  The first of these was the last public execution by burning in England which took place in Shrewsbury in 1789. The horror of the scene is graphically enhanced by the description of the tolling bell:  "St Mary's bell boomed, sending throbs of sound overhead that beat against the walls of the house in one street, and came back muffled in recoil."  The second event was where a young lady had to endure the shame of being the prize at a bowling contest. This is described as follows:  "O yes! O yes! O yes! This is to give notice that this 'ere evening, at six o'clock, at Stewponey, there will be a grand champion match at bowls on the green. The prize to be Bladys Rea, commonly called Stewponey
