Peter Cowie starts our new series in 2nd Samuel this week, starting with 2 Samuel 1:1-16. Peter challenges us with the concept of a "story" as we enter 2nd Samuel. What are the differences we see between Saul and David? Both Kings of Israel throughout the books of Samuel, but very different in how they lead and who they were to the people and God. Peter dives into 3 different aspects of this passage to help us know what God is trying to teach us - the contrast; the problem; and speech. In today's passage, David learns of Saul's death, and we see how he reacts to the news.
