from The New Hampshire Weather Podcast

Good morning. New Hampshire. I'm DJ Huzz. Folks. March walks in wearing a disguise today. That 26 degrees on your thermometer right now? That's the warm part. An Arctic high is sliding down from Canada. and it's about to remind us what winter actually feels like. In the next 24 hours. First though, a quick snow squall. Southern New Hampshire, you'll see flurries between 7 and 9 A.M. Nothing major. A light dusting at most. Highs touch 30 degrees this afternoon. Then the trapdoor opens. Tonight, lows crash to 4 degrees. Wind chills near minus 6 by dawn Monday. That's the kind of cold that stings your lungs. Drive north toward Concord and the Lakes Region. Patchy fog burns off early. Snow chances run from 6 to 8 A.M., then partly sunny skies take over. Same high near 30 degrees. but tonight drops to 2 degrees with wind chills near minus 7. Now the White Mountains. Snow's possible before 9 A.M., then skies clear. Temperatures actually fall through the afternoon, settling around 20 degrees. Overnight? Minus 3. Wind chills pushing minus 9. If you're up near Franconia or Crawford Notch, your car battery is going to earn its keep tonight. Monday brings sunshine but no warmth. Mid 20s statewide. Now the plot twist. Tuesday a low pressure system rolls in with snow, possibly mixing with rain overnight. An inch or two in central areas. Then temperatures surge. Wednesday and Thursday. Highs near 50 degrees. That's a 25 degrees swing in 48 hours. Your jacket from Monday morning becomes your shorts weather by midweek. Well, almost. Another system Friday could bring mixed precipitation, but next weekend looks like mid 50s. Spring equinox is three weeks out. This week, you'll actually start to believe it. Charge your phone tonight. Cold batteries die fast. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow. For the extended outlook, check the latest forecast as confidence improves. Stay safe, stay prepared. and enjoy the day.
