3:10 to Yuma (2007)

"This movie should not exist" is one of the first things Dan says about James Mangold's 3:10 to Yuma--and he means it as a high compliment. A western in 2007 that isn't "about" the western? A mid-budget movie without superheroes yet still with bankable star power? And Peter Fonda in a cameo? Mike and Dan talk about how the film is a dry run for Logan, which Mangold made ten years later and how he knows what his audience craves. But it's also a movie about self-respect, father figures, and the train as an instrument of progress.
