3.111 LITERACY: Reading: Wait for a response
from The Interaction Coach Hosted by Joyce Olson
Reading a book together can be like a conversation. You are both looking at and commenting on the same thing. Don't dominate the "conversation." Give your child a chance to do or say something after you, then respond to their topic of interest. Today's activity: Touch a picture and name it. Wait for a response from your child. Expand upon the meaning your child is expressing. Visit www.TheInteractionCoach.com to see the directory of speech-language pathologists licensed in your area. If you can't find one in the directory, contact me at [email protected] and I'll track down someone for you.
