3.13 Egypt: The History of the Language

In this episode, I cover the development of the three Egyptian written languages: hieroglyphics, hieratic, and demotic. I detail how we know about the languages and where each was used.  I wrap up with how the rise of Christianity led to the decline in these ancient languages. Next week, I’ll cover the Rosetta Stone and their ancient religious practices and the development of their language.
