from SAX IN THE MORNING · host Steve Sax

I would love to hear from you, just send me text and let me know what you think of the podcast.Today I talk about Madge Sayers. A name you might not know unless you love to get deep into Olympic history, but Madge Sayers was one of the first and best female figure skaters in the early 1900’s. In fact, she was one of the best regardless of gender and proved that by winning the British Nationals in 1903 against men. She then saw a women’s division get created and won the first women’s singles gold medal in the 1908 games. Sayers smashed down the doors for women, beating her own husband in competition and helped launch women’s figure skating, which is one of the most popular events in the Winter Olympics today. Visit my website: saxinthemorning.com for merchandise and other links. Follow us on social media: Instagram: @saxinthemorning_podcastYouTube: subscribe and watch shorts here Sponsor: Wendigo Tea Remember, Sax in the Morning swag is now available on my Instagram site.
