3/15/26: Through the Struggle

from St Francis Catholic Hosted by Fr. Mike Casey

John 9:1-41. Homily from the Fourth Sunday of Lent. When Jesus heals a man born blind, the man’s own parents and religious community turn on him. In the midst of his struggle to convince them all that he was healed by Jesus, the man comes to know Jesus in a far deeper way, going from calling him “the man” to calling him “Lord” and worshiping him. The same thing can happen to us: through our struggles, we can come to know the Lord in a deeper and more profound way. To learn more, visit www.stfranciscatholic.org/

Conversations from Fountain Square Rev Lisa Mason Weekly sermons and other news from St. John’s Episcopal Church, Fountain Square, Larchmont New York. C.S. Lewis's The Last Battle St. Philip's Church: Charleston, SC Come join us on Wednesday nights as we explore the riches of C.S. Lewis’s marvelous book The Last Battle, which is the last of The Chronicles of Narnia. It is a remarkable book on multiple levels and was awarded the Carnegie Medal back in the 1950s when it was first published. The Last Battle has some themes in common with The Great Divorce and That Hideous Strength that will make it an excellent follow-up to those two books, and like them, it has some remarkable resonance with things going on in today’s culture. It is a book that is both theologically rich and poignantly beautiful in its writing, and it can help equip us to live boldly for Christ in a culture that has lost its way. (Although this book is the last of The Chronicles of Narnia, it can stand on its own and it is not necessary to have read the other books for this class.)
