That high pressure sitting north of us is funneling in cold Canadian air. Meanwhile, a warm front is dragging moisture straight from the Southern Plains. When those two collide overnight, the calm breaks. We're looking at a wintry mix that will complicate your Tuesday morning. In the next 24 hours. Here's the timeline. Northern Delaware is under a Winter Weather Advisory from 3 A.M. To 8 A.M. You'll see a coating of snow and a light glaze of ice before the changeover. Roads could be slick for the early commute, so take it slow. Tonight, lows hold near 31 degrees north and central, 33 degrees south. Snow pops up late evening in Southern Delaware and spreads north. By dawn, most of us transition to plain rain. Tuesday stays raw and rainy. Highs top out around 42 degrees north, 46 central. and 45 south. Rain continues Tuesday night, adding another quarter to half inch to the buckets. Then comes the plot twist. The pattern flips mid-week. That cold air gets shoved out. Wednesday we jump to the mid-50s. Thursday and Friday bring low 60s to near 70 degrees. That's 31 degrees to 31 degrees above normal. The trade-off is rain chances daily, with a slight chance of thunderstorms Thursday night into Friday. The weekend looks partly sunny and mild, with highs in the mid-60s to low 70s.
