 1)     After Homon was duly suspended [on the 2nd day of Pesach], Queen Esther pleads for Homon’s decree to be rescinded. Achashverosh offers instead, that a 2nd letter be dispatched to authorize the Jews to protect themselves and to neutralize their enemies.
