3.49 The 3rd Intermediate Period Part 7: Egypt Ruled by Persia Part 2

from Vol. 1 The Christian History Podcast · host Not Theology. Just how world history intersects with Christian history.

In this episode, I continue to work my way through the period when Egypt was ruled by the Persians. Beginning at the end of Artaxerxes’s reign with his successor Xerxes the 2nd, through a progression of short-lived rulers. Egypt would gain independence under Pharaoh Amyrtaeus, the only ruler of the 28th Dynasty. He was succeeded by Nepherites of the 29th Dynasty who would continue to battle the Persians for Egyptian independence. I continue through the reign of Pharaoh Nectanebo. Overall, this episode covers Egypt between the years 425 and 362 BC. After listening, let me know what you think.
