Welcome to Chronicling COVID-19, a special series brought to you by the creators of The Growl at The Tiger Times newspaper. Join host Maggie Mills as she documents the COVID-19 pandemic through the stories of those affected. Ohio governor Mike DeWine's official closure of all restaurants and bars for sit-down, in-person meals on March 15 forced restaurants to a carryout or delivery only business model. These closures have had a massive impact on the local restaurant industry. In the third installment of Chronicling COVID-19, Maggie talks with Dixie Singer, president of local Cleveland restaurant chain Yours Truly. While Singer's quick action has spared Yours Truly's employees thus far, the same cannot be said for many other small business restaurants.
