Horrified, Joe flees the scene, convinces Kathy (Faye Dunaway) to help him survive and learns that CIA higher-ups were involved in the murders and have sent a merciless hit man (Max von Sydow) after him. Joe must somehow survive long enough to figure out why his own agency wants him dead.
