#3 - Make Yourself Beautiful

How do you react when you've been hurt, either by someone else or, yourself? (ouch) I heard Jim Carrey once say that when hurt, artists go inward and create a bouquet of roses. I didn't realize I do that 90% of the time. You might read that and think "How lovely," but I can tell you it doesn't always mean sunshine and rose petals. It feels good when you can start building the bouquet, and seeing the beauty in the pain, and the lessons that spring out of it.  For me, the real beauty has been in seeing the way I've been uncovering my truest self from under the heaps of fertilizer I've been piling on top of myself my whole life, waiting for the flowers to blossom. My friends, sometimes you need to use less fertilizer to make your garden grow.
