3 Methods of Communication

 In today’s episode, I’m breaking down the three modes of communication and ranking them from the most notable to the least. Understanding these modes can dramatically improve how you convey your message, whether in business or personal interactions.First, let's talk about words. Believe it or not, words only make up 7% of what we communicate. It’s surprising, right? According to Robert Greene,  when someone has more words to say they are not perceived as an expert or authority. Think about successful business owners; they’re concise and to the point. Words are important, but they’re not doing all the work for us.Next, we have tonality, which makes up 38% of communication. The tone of your voice can drastically change the meaning of your words. For example, an uptone at the end of a sentence usually indicates a question, while a downtone shows authority and confidence. How you stress words and deliver your message is crucial. It keeps people engaged and conveys more than just the words themselves. Ever wonder why radio and podcast hosts speak the way they do? It’s all about tonality.Lastly, the most significant mode is nonverbal communication, making up 55% of what we communicate. This is why video is so powerful. Your gestures, facial expressions, and body language can say more than words ever could. Nonverbal cues often happen subconsciously, reflecting our true feelings and thoughts.
