3 Scenes of Advent

"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42   Advent is a churchy Christmas word. It’s two steps removed from a plain meaning for you and me.   Advent speaks of arrival— a coming into place, into focus. When Jesus talked about it, he said ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.’   When I hear the word, I think ‘adventure.’ And that’s what I want to invite you into!   I want us to see 3 visions of Advent; the coming of Jesus to Bethlehem, Jesus coming into my heart, and coming back to bring us home.   Meditate awhile on Luke 2:8-20, and Luke 23:39-43 (the thief on the cross). Isaiah 11:2 will help you dwell on how Jesus comes to us. Revelation 22:12-20 should help whet your appetite for Forever!    Let’s worship around all that!   I LOVE Being Your Pastor!   Rusty
