As happens every four years, I'm currently obsessed with the Olympics. Let's revisit how the whole spectacle was started by an oddball Frenchman with a dream in his heart. The earliest modern Olympics were lovable slow-motion disasters - drunk marathoners, kiddie Olympians, and at least one unintentional gold medal.
