3. The Spiral of Life - My Journey Part 1

from Soul Archaeology - An Astrology Podcast · host Ali Ofstedal

The Soul Archaeology podcast is about creating a resonance within oneself to activate the wisdom and potential within. In this week's episode hosted by astrologer, intuitive & quantum healer, and somatic practitioner, Ali Ofstedal, we are brought through her journey of childhood, teenage and young adulthood, leading up to when she recognized the patterns and physical manifestations in her life. Ali discusses her upbringing in a small town in southern Illinois, with loving parents, siblings and grandparents, reflecting on being one of the last generations to grow up with a carefree childhood, a love of travel, and how she experienced anxiety at a young age. She eventually ends up being diagnosed with scoliosis, a compressed spinal cord, and undergoing serious, life threatening surgeries at age seven. As a sensitive child who was already a deep feeler, with heightened sensitivity, Ali found herself suppressing what she was feeling at her core to protect her parents, how this showed up in her body with conditions suppressing essential functions. Moving through her teenage years, she shares that the health conditions followed her, experiencing sickness in high school, undergoing MRI's until age 18. Dealing with anxiety, chronic pain and a fear of abandonment, at 21 she had a panic attack that brought her back to the feeling of being out of control. As she navigated her career of being a recruiter and working in HR, analyzing personality tests of candidates, she realized that everyone was wired so much differently than she originally interpreted. After taking one of these tests herself, her own wiring chart did not align with job, causing her to feel shame and fear around not being the right fit - she was more creative, sensitive, and introverted than her extroverted, expansive, driven counterparts. She then realized that she had created a box that felt safe and predictable acceptable and was rejecting herself for fear of abandonment. This was a metaphor for her life and an awakening experience for her.
