30: Acupuncture & ADHD with Robin Green

from Soaring Child: Thriving with ADHD

On this week's edition of Soaring Child, Robin Green shows us how an ancient Chinese healing technique can help kids with ADHD. Robin is an author, speaker, educator and founder of Pediatric Healing Arts, as well as a pediatric specialist in acupuncture and Chinese medicine. The unfortunate reality is that kids are getting sicker today instead of healthier. Much of it has to do with unprecedented levels of toxic exposure in our environment including EMFs, poor food quality, and pollution. This affects our kids' ability to get the sleep and nutrients they need, which in turn affects their overall health. Toxic exposure shows itself behaviorally and emotionally through hyperactivity, aggression, defiant behaviors, and ADHD. So how do you get the nervous system to come back into balance? Acupuncture and acupressure are great ways to restore the flow of energy and re-align the body so those negative behaviors and emotions neutralize.  The healing techniques of acupressure and acupuncture have been around for more than 3,000 years. Applying pressure, or inserting tiny needles at meridian points in the body, helps to restore balance and relieve pain. For kids with ADHD, acupuncture and acupressure trigger that relaxation response that helps a child get balanced again. These treatments can relieve headaches, regulate the nervous system, and help a child focus. You can also tap or press on the area between the eyebrows to relieve tension and stress in your child. When kids get a little older, pediatric needles are very effective, and kids don't even feel them because they are so tiny. Phototherapy patches can also be helpful.  Finding a doctor who uses an array of these modalities is ideal so treatment can be tailored to your child specifically.   Key Takeaways: [9:14] How acupuncture works  [10:47] Using acupressure on the ear with ear seeds that are like jewelry [17:34] Wave phototherapy patches for kids and how they work [19:03] How families determine what modality is right for their child [20:03] What to look for in an acupuncturist [21:14] Licensing for acupuncturists [21:59] Finding your child's power foods [23:22] When to start treatment [25:07] Avoiding gluten and eating healthy foods     How To Connect With Robin Green: https://www.robinraygreen.com/ https://www.robingreenacupuncture.com/ https://www.acupuncturepediatrics.com/ https://www.healthyseminars.com/bio/robin-ray-green https://www.instagram.com/pediatrichealingarts/?hl=en     Memorable Quotes:  "We're seeing unprecedented levels of toxic exposure, of EMF exposure, which can in even tiny amounts affect the developing brain and affect our children's ability to get a good, deep restful sleep." "We're also experiencing dramatic changes in the quality of our food. The food that's supposed to be nourishing our bodies, even when we're eating organic, is just not giving the nutrients we were getting even 20, 30 years ago." "Using acupuncture and pressure stimulation is a very gentle, easy way that children can accept that will be very balancing to their nervous system." "Ear seeds are a perfect way to stimulate the meridian points, balance the nervous system, and address conditions in a 'set it and forget it' way." "Children's bodies have so much energy because they're growing and developing, so just a tiny amount of stimulation is required to get the desired results. So with those tiny little pediatric needles, we just tap it in and take it out immediately." "Before puberty is a really important window where we can have a dramatic transformation in their health and behavior and really change the trajectory of their entire life for the better."    Dana Kay Resources:   Website - https://adhdthriveinstitute.com/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/adhdthriveinstitute  Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/adhdthriveinstitute/  YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/c/ADHDThriveInstitute  LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/74302454/  Pinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/adhdthriveinstitute/ Tiktok - https://www.tiktok.com/@adhd_thriveinstitute     International Best Selling Book, Thriving with ADHD - https://adhdthriveinstitute.com/book/    Free Reduce ADHD Symptoms Naturally Masterclass – https://bit.ly/3GAbFQl     ADHD Parenting Course – https://info.adhdthriveinstitute.com/parentingadhd   ADHD Thrive Method 4 Kids Program - https://adhdthriveinstitute.com/packages/
