30. Cam McKay Part 2
from Not to Make This About Me But... Hosted by Allie Treen
Hello and welcome back - Today's episode is part two of my interview with Cameron McKay. Cam is a fellow trauma survivor and creator of Shit Creek Survivors podcast. You can also listen to the podcast on Spotify. Last time, we spoke about Cam's experience being shot on duty when he was working as a police officer, and how being shot led to him unraveling things that had long been buried. This episode covers more of the beginning of Cam's life, and his first experiences with trauma and coercive control. We cover how this initial trauma lived with him, and affected him throughout life until he finallly looked it in the eye and processed it. Please take care while listening, as there are references to childhood sexual abuse in this episode. I hope this episode helps those of you who have endured similar circumstances. If you have questions, thoughts, or topics you’d like covered, you can use the contact form on practicalsomatic.com/podcast. If you — or someone you know — is interested in further resources, somatic coaching with me, or advice and guidance (sounding board sessions) to support healing after narcissistic or coercive abuse, you can find more information at practicalsomatic.com. If this episode resonates, rating or reviewing the podcast helps it reach people who are still trying to make sense of their experience. Thanks!
