は/wa: the subject (TOPIC) identifying particle. は follows the noun that it is identifyingは cannot be used with 'WH' Question words.これは　なん　です　か？＊What is this?ペンは　どこ　です　か？Where is the Pen?なまえは　なん　ジョン　です。(My) name is John.たけしさんは　にほんじん　です。Takeshisan is Japanese.Dialogue:はじめまして、わたしの　なまえは　ジョン　です。あなたの　なまえは　なん　ですか？　よろしくおねがいします。じゃねー"Nice to meet you, My name is John.
