#30 | Mexico to Canada... and Back to Mexico? A PCT Yo-Yo, and Much More with Austin Davis

from Trail Tales - Thru-Hiking & Backpacking · host Kyle Hates Hiking

Austin Davis caught the hiking bug in 2018, completing a yo-yo hike of the Pacific Crest Trail, before heading to South America in an effort to continue his adventures. In 2019, he thru-hiked the Te Araroa in New Zealand, and the Arizona Trail. That's a ton of hiking.  In our chat, we talk in depth about his PCT yo-yo, water sources on the Arizona Trail (which still disgust me), and do an info-session on the Te Araroa. I bet it won't be long before Austin continues his adventures and moves on the Appalachian Trail, and beyond. Go check out his website: http://notabadplacetopee.com/ Like what you hear? Guests will include both former and current believers in a variety of conspiracy theories, as well as debunkers, skeptics, and the investigators of those theories. I’m Mick West, a debunker. I wrote the book Escaping the Rabbit Hole – How to Debunk Conspiracy Theories using Facts, Logic, and Respect. This book came from my experiences running Metabunk – a debunking forum. Over the years I realized simply presenting corrections to people is not enough. We need effective communication, and we can’t do that if we don’t listen to and talk with each other. I’m hoping this podcast will help bridge that gap.
