30. Rediscovering the Sacred | Moving Beyond Scientific Materialism

from The Wisdom Tradition | a philosophy podcast · host Alexander Sachon

In this episode, I overview the fourth and final chapter of my recent publication, "Psychology: The Science of the Soul". Here, I overview the main tenets of the paradigm of scientific materialism. I then compare and contrast this worldview with that of the "Cosmic Game" view held by depth psychology and ancient philosophy. Overall, I seek to put the current paradigm of secular science into a larger historical and spiritual context and argue that the current moment in time signifies a gradual "death" of this paradigm in order that a new paradigm can be born in which science is re-ensouled with religious and philosophic themes. This episode will be followed up with another episode in which I analyze Manly P. Hall's lecture "I Beg to Differ with Darwinian Theory", which touches on many of these same topics. Thanks for tuning in and for your support. - Alexwebsite: www.alexsachon.cominstagram: @thewisdomtraditione-store: www.thewisdomtradition.bigcartel.comSend us a text
