This time to the little rural town of #geesbend #alabama - home of the famous #quilters #collective and my new friends, Mary Ann and Emma Pettway. My friend Tracie and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour through the Black Belt of Alabama. Growing up learning how to quilt I was fascinated by these #artists who humbly create beauty with little. Their work can be seen in 13!! museums around the world representing African American art that spans generations. If you are a crafter or LOVE ART, you will definitely want to make a stop and #taketheferry across the river to the towns of Boykin and Gee's Bend ~ Alabama!Today's vlog is dedicated to @williamarnett who loved and quilt and changed lives in the process!
