The Woman in White 11 Fosco's confession: I went to England in 1850. My wife and I stayed at my friend Glyde's. I and Glyde found out we both are in great need of money. We decided to use the inheritance of Lady Glyde. I learnt of Anne Catherick, who happened to be in much resemblance of Lady Glyde. I planned to switch the two of them and secure my 10000 pound and Glyde's money. I tricked Mrs. Clements and Anne Catherick to go to London to meet Lady Glyde. My wife dumped Mrs. Clements and brought Anne to my apartment in St. John's Wood. We introduced Anne as "Lady Glyde" to our servants. Then i took Anne who was already down with my pills to my apartment where it was already empty with no one. Anne eventually died that night. A nearby doctor came and examined and wrote down death certificate with the date July 25th. Therefore people remembered Lady Glyde died on July 25th. July 26th real Lady Glyde did arrive in London. I hid Anne's clothing and changed Lady Glyde into wearing Anne's clothing. Lady Glyde was sent directly to the asylum where they received her without question. I brought Anne's body and luggages with me to Limmeridge House and held the funeral. Hartright brought death certificate, Fosco's statements and Glyde's letter with signature to Mr. Kyrle. Kyrle consented he could reveal the proofs to the villagers. All villagers came to Limmeridge House to listen to the grand hearing. I asked a stone worker to remove the mistaken engravings and and carved the correct ones. Pesca informed Hartright Fosco was found stabbed in Paris and the body was thrown into river Seine. Fosco's left upper arm was found ripped off chunk of tissue. I had a boy named Walter Hartright the second. Uncle Philip Fairlie died. Marian wrote me to return to England as soon as possible.
