Sheepfiddlers Podcast – Episode 31: An Interview with Steve “Pele” Paterson This week on the Sheepfiddlers Podcast, Quanny sits down with one of the most fascinating characters in Scottish football — former Aberdeen manager, Manchester United player and Highland football legend, Steve “Pele” Paterson. Steve takes us through his incredible football journey, from making his Manchester United debut as a teenager to his successful career in Scottish football and his time with Inverness Caledonian Thistle. We also talk about his time in charge of Aberdeen, what it was like taking on one of the biggest jobs in Scottish football, the pressures that came with it, and how he looks back on that period of his career today. But this is much more than a football interview. Steve speaks openly about the highs and lows of his life, the challenges he faced away from the pitch, and the journey that followed. It is an honest, fascinating and at times emotional conversation with a man who has experienced some incredible highs and difficult lows. We also hear Steve’s thoughts on Aberdeen, Scottish football, the players and managers he has worked with, and the modern game. A fascinating opportunity to hear the story behind the name Steve “Pele” Paterson — in his own words. 🎙️ Episode 31 is out now. 🔴⚪ Real Fans. Real Opinions. Real Aberdeen.
