31: The Future of In-Person Events with UNC

from You Should Know This · host BCC Research

As vaccines become more available and the world begins to slowly re-open after over a year of battling the global pandemic, people are both eager and nervous about large-scale in-person events. University of North Carolina’s Reese Innovation Lab is combatting the new issues that Covid-19 has brought by enabling venues to positively encourage people to wear masks and social distance through their AI powered Health Greeter Kiosks. Joining me to expand on both the inspiration behind the kiosks, its technology and design, as well as its application is Steven King, Chief Innovation Officer at Reese Innovation Lab, and Natalie Huggins, student experience designer from the UNC Chapel Hill. Together we discuss how the kiosks work, the thought process behind the design and the impact the technology will have post pandemic.
