31. “Will You Be My Emergency Contact?” 4 Tips To Make New Friends & Find Your Tribe As a Military Spouse (PLUS The TRUTH about Spouses‘ Clubs)

from More Than a Milspouse | mindset, clarity, work-life balance, create a purpose-fueled life as a military spouse, Milspouse Mastermind · host Christine Hinrichs | Military Spouse, Growth Coach, Clarity Coach, Marketing Strategist

As summer comes to a close, so many of us have either moved to a new location or have had dear friends move away (myself included). And with that physical separation, often comes a sense of loneliness. And, if we aren’t intentional about making new friends, it can lead us to a place of isolation. And isolation will negatively affect our health, our well-being, and our ability to thrive and pursue lives of purpose as military spouses. Part of MilSpouse life  is saying “see you later” to good friends and saying “Will you be my emergency contact?” to people you have just met. When I think back to being a young military spouse, there was so much that I didn’t know. And I think one thing I underestimated was how hard it can be to make new friends in a new location. And how vital it is to our mental and emotional health!  So today I want to chat specifically about why finding your tribe matters, how to combat feelings of isolation, and four things you can do today to meet new people and find your tribe (even if you’re an introvert). Friend, we are better together. We become the best version of ourselves in community. We grow in community. We do more and achieve more and become more in community. And when we go together, we make a difference and we change the world! So let’s talk about how to pursue friendship as military spouses! P.S.
