Ahab was possessed with revenging Moby Dick. Ahab asked everyone on board to swear revenge with him. Starbuck seemed reserved. Crew had some whisperings. Moby Dick is indestructible. Moby Dick can be seen in different places at the same time. Starbuck disapproved what Ahab had ordained. Ishmael despaired that Elijah was right.
