#314 Moby Dick 11

Moby Dick 11 Pequod spot a huge white squid. Queequeg said if there is squid, sperm whale cannot be too far. Stubb and Tashtego successfully caught a sperm whale. Stubb had to lance the whale directly in the heart for the big creature to die eventually. Little boats carried the whale body back to Pequod. The butchering of the whole body took one whole day. Harpooneers cut the body and hook the blubber one by one onto the rigging onto the masts. Everyone had his place in the butchering of the whale body. Ishmael had to squeeze the blubber fat into liquid. Liquid then was cooked into oil. Oil then was stored in barrels into cabin to carry back to Nantucket. After midnight, the butchering had ended. Ishmael was steering the ship. The dead whale's head was hung above the bow of Pequod.
