The conversation focused on prison reform, with the speaker discussing how there are five major corporations that run prison systems. They noted that the people incarcerated in these systems are often paid a meager $10 a week, and that there are other countries, such as Norway and Italy, that focus on rehabilitation rather than punishment. Finally, the conversation points out that prison lobbying groups advocate for stricter laws on marijuana and other offenses, and that when inmates are released, they are not allowed to vote, and often have difficulty finding a job, which leads to a higher chance of them returning to a life of crime.
