317: Pendulum

from BrainStim · host Dr. Richard Aplin

Are you old enough to remember when American health wasn't abysmal? And if you are, did you ever know children that were as sick as our kids are today? As of 2023, the CDC estimates that approximately 33% of U.S. adolescents aged 12–17 have prediabetes. 21.1% of U.S. youth aged 2–19  years are obese, up from 13.9% in 1999–2000! It's like our health has been on a crash course for a few decades, but is rapidly accelerating to a terrible end. Or is it?  Have the American people finally realized the power they have in the food choices they make - causing a pendulum shift in our diet and nutrition? Suddenly many food manufacturers are removing dyes from their products, using natural ingredients instead of chemically produced or synthetically processed ingredients.  This shift is bound to have a profound impact on our SAD (Standard American Diet) - and we are HERE for it!  Take a listen to the BrainStim Gang discuss the current pendulum shift in today's episode!
