3198 Don't Step On The Heart

from Create Your Now with Kristianne Wargo

When we're little, we step on toes because we can. But when we are adults, we step on hearts. If you do not want to wound your spouse emotionally, don't step on the heart. This is true for parenting and marriage. When things overlap with such a distinguished definition, you better take a second look. Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women? Join us at Women of IMPACT. https://createyournow.mn.co  In marriage, we may inadvertently 'step on each other's toes,' causing temporary discomfort, just like was done when the kiddos did it. However, the real pain arises when we 'step on each other's hearts,' causing emotional wounds. Many times, these wounds are unintentional, resulting from blind spots we have in our relationships. If you want to protect your spouse's heart, avoid the pitfalls that keep the ditch fresh.  The K.I.S.S. ~ Avoid pitfalls that keep the ditch fresh! These are pitfalls that will create quicksand in your marriage and will grow over time. 1. Don't Rush to 'Fix' the Problem: Instead of immediately seeking solutions, take the time to truly listen and connect with your spouse. Show them love and support by prioritizing emotional validation before problem-solving. 2. Don't Make Plans Without Consulting Your Spouse: Every decision you make impacts your spouse. Show respect by considering their thoughts and opinions before finalizing plans. 3. Don't 'Check out' Other People: Engaging in distracted or flirtatious behavior with others, even if it remains verbal or non-verbal, undermines your spouse's confidence and trust. Reinforce your commitment by being mentally monogamous. 4. Don't 'Hide' Your Spouse Instead of Highlighting Them: Keeping your marriage separate from other aspects of your life may seem like protection, but it can actually hurt your spouse. Proudly display your commitment through public gestures of affection, wearing your wedding ring, and showcasing your spouse in all areas of your life. Remember, marriage is a journey that requires constant effort and growth. By recognizing and addressing these unintended behaviors, you can strengthen the bond with your spouse and create a lasting, fulfilling relationship. Take the necessary steps to protect each other's hearts, foster trust, and celebrate the love you share. Together, you can build a marriage that withstands any challenge. "Be present. Be incredible. Be YOU!!!"   #RelationshipBuilders #CreateYourNow #LoveAndMarriage 🔔 Desire to be supported and encouraged by other like-minded women?
