Sunday morning was full of praise, prayer, fellowship and to listen to God's Word. Wow! What a great Easter Sunday we had here at Christ Church! It was truly amazing to see so many people come to our Easter services and to see Liam and Christian get baptized.   I love baptism services. They are a great opportunity to hear people’s stories of how they came to know Jesus and; the services themselves are full of powerful symbolism. Baptism is a story of death and resurrection. The person being baptized is united to Christ in his death (shown as they go down under the water) and united to Christ in his resurrection (shown as they come up out of the water). There are also a number of other symbols for example, like the one of water cleansing us from our sin. But essentially the person being baptized is saying “I have put my old life to death and have started living a new life - the new life that Jesus has won for all of us.” Head to our dedicated sermon series page to go deeper: www.ccsurbiton.org/sermons
