Naturally Damien developed a love of the ocean and a natural tendency to want to protect it. Almost  by accident Damo led a movement to protect our oceans in the "fight for the bight" global surfing protect.Damo ran for state and federal politics, while running a passionate campaign to beat oil giants Equinor in the Great Australian Bight.
