32: How to Save $3k on Your Wedding by Being on Top of Your RSVPs

from Unbridely - Modern Wedding Planning · host Camille Abbott

According to brides.com, the average wedding guest list has around 15-20% of guests who RSVP they’re not attending. So if you've got a 100-person guest list, for example, this would mean 15 to 20 people are not planning on showing up. So you don't need to add them to your numbers for food, drinks, or table decorations. And when you really think about table decorations, you can imagine that each table for your reception may have linen. So tablecloth, napkin plates, glassware, cutlery, centrepieces, table numbers, candles, floral display. If we are talking about a full wedding, this cost could easily be around $150 per person. Or $3,000 that you could save on your wedding IF you can get those RSVPs back in time. That's a BIG if and therein lies the rub, my friend. It's quite distressing, but also super common for wedding guests not to RSVP for many different reasons, but today you'll learn:the 4 main reasons that your family and friends won't RSVP to your wedding on time, plus the 6 ways that you can be proactive about it and change the result, which could potentially save you around $3k on your wedding!Resources Mentioned:Brides.com post from 2023 titled: “What Percentage of Guests RSVP Yes to Weddings?“: https://www.brides.com/percentage-of-guests-rsvp-yes-to-weddings-7100155real simple.com post from 2019 titled “The Real Reason We Don't RSVP To Invites According to Experts”: https://www.realsimple.com/work-life/technology/communication-etiquette/rsvp-etiquetteVisit WedSites.com to get started on your FREE wedding website and use code UNBRIDELYPOD to get 10% off any of their paid plans.Send Unbridely a 90-second audio message on Speakpipe: https://www.speakpipe.com/unbridelypodcast *The Unbridely Podcast is sponsored by its listeners.
