320: Dr. Casey Halpern on Understanding the Roots of OCD and Compulsive Behaviors and How They Relate to Anxiety and Trauma

from Win Today: Your Roadmap to Wholeness

A few months ago, I found the research and work of Dr. Casey Halpern, who is the Professor of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Halpern's research and clinical practice focus on using deep brain stimulation to treat compulsive and movement disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, as well as other neurologic conditions. My goal in speaking with Dr. Halpern was to understand the roots of compulsive behaviors and how they are related to anxiety and trauma, and my hope is that after listening, you'll receive greater education about this very relevant subject.
