Tales of Great Heroes 3 Prometheus decided to give humans fire to cook food with. Prometheus asked little brother Epimetheus to look after human when he was away to steal some fire from Olympus and Epimetheus would have to shun away from Zeus's any particular "gift". Athena was daughter of Zeus. Athena made Arachne into a spider for the latter boasted of her own weaving skill. Athena helped Prometheus to a secret path to Olympus. Prometheus succeeded in stealing fire and returned to Arcadia. After Prometheus's fire, humans started civilization with a speed unseen before. Zeus decided to punish Prometheus. P warned that for one, Zeus would not be able to retrieve a fire, for two, one day a human, Zeus's own son with a female human, would save Olympus and the rest of the gods. So Zeus better think twice before he destroyed every human there was. Zeus was not daunted. Zeus bade his son Hephaestus to strap P to rocky Caucasus. P warned Hephaestus that Zeus would fall like Cronos fell and P was the only redemption Z had. Z was even more furious. Z sent Hermes to warn P that P was now aggravated by more bodily pain of eagles pecking his liver away daily. Meanwhile Z conceived of a plan to punish humans by making them foresee their own fate. Z tricked a human into saying it's P who sent humans fire. Z rewarded the snitch with good wines. Those people who snitched made donkeys carry the wines to hide it away. Donkeys were again tricked by a snake who guarded the river. Donkeys gave the snake the good wines and donkeys got to drink the water of the river. That's why snakes get to shred their skins every year and look rejuvenated which originally was designed by Zeus for human to get longevity as a form of punishment. After failing to punish humans every time, Z finally came up with one final most evil plan. Zeus made the first woman Pandora. Epimetheus was the first titan to set eyes on Pandora. The two got married. P had a golden box in Epimetheus's house. P asked E never to open the box. Pandora was so curious that she opened it and that is the cause of diseases, illnesses, sorrow, hate, jealousy, lies, stealing and many other vices on earth. While Pandora hastily shut the box up, Hope was kept inside the box and asked to be let out too. That is why among so many anguishes, humans still have hope to go on. -- Hosting provided by SoundOn
