327: Spooky Subclasses

The 8bA Podcast brings you this week’s latest and greatest gaming news. NEWS ITEMS Dungeons & Dragons. D&D Beyond released a new Unearthed Arcana, this time featuring subclasses based on horror. The playtest is now live and features revisions for the College of Spirits Bard, Grave Domain Cleric, Phantom Rogue, Shadow Sorcerer, Hexblade Warlock, and Undead Warlock, while also showcasing the Reanimator Artificer and Hollow Warden Ranger. Gex Trilogy. Nintendo Life reports that Gex is returning to consoles with several bundles available from Limited Run Games. The trilogy will be available as a Standard edition for $40 starting June 16th, with a Collector’s Box ($75) and Tail Time Edition ($200) also available. Overwatch 2. Kotaku reports that Team 4 (the Overwatch 2 team) at Blizzard has fully unionized. The union is part of the Communication Workers of America union. Last year’s layoffs across Microsoft were cited as one of the major reasons for the unionization push. Palworld. IGN reports that PocketPair has patched out several gameplay functions that were named in the ongoing lawsuit filed by Nintendo. Players no longer throw Pal Spheres to summon Pals and will need a glider to glide around. World Video Game Hall of Fame. Polygon reports that Defender, GoldenEye 007, Quake, and Tamagotchi have been inducted. Nominees are judged on four metrics: icon status, longevity, geographical reach, and influence.
