3276 Confessions of a Stay-at-Home Mom - Call In Show - April 27th, 2016

from Freedomain with Stefan Molyneux | Podcasts 3000-3499

Question 1: [2:10] - “I am a 27-year-old proud stay at home mother (with the thanks of Stefan's shows on YouTube about the benefits). I was going to continue my career with a large company after my daughter's birth, but came across Stefan’s shows on abandonment. I spoke with my husband and we both agreed we would change our lifestyle so that I could stay home. He found a better paying job because he has a STEM degree and we moved states, downsized our home and live on a budget. One week after I gave birth we moved. I never have regretted our decision and am thankful for such a wonderful man who provides for me and our daughter.”“Why do single mothers take zero responsibility for who they bring home around their children? Why do they blame the man and not themselves? To add on the topic why are stay at home mothers portrayed as having zero ambition and uneducated?”Question 2: [1:23:44] - “Margaret Thatcher once famously said that there was no such thing as society, implying that individual free will is paramount and uninhibited by the larger system in which it operates. Stefan recently said something in the same vein in making a point about people in poverty blaming their circumstances on systemic obstacles when they should simply take charge of their own lives. While encouraging individual responsibility is a good thing, is it not also important to understand the systemic context and the constraints which it imposes?”Question 3: [2:01:50] - “Why did you attack Atheists in your video “Why I Was Wrong About Atheism” and claim that we are all worshippers of the state?”Question 4: [2:27:18] - “Should we hold stupid people to the same moral standard as people of high intelligence? I want to say that everyone has equal moral agency, but at the same time I don't want to mistake the world for myself.”Freedomain Radio is 100% funded by viewers like you.
