328. Scream 4 with special guest Joshua Tonks

"You forgot the first rule of remakes, Jill. Don't F**k with the original." We watched "Scream 4" with our friend Joshua Tonks and we might just have to re-evaluate our ranking of the Scream Franchise. This movie was a reset for the Franchise and it holds a special place for many in the fandom. The opening scene in any Scream movie is iconic (obviously) but this entry really blows the roof off the joint and lets the audience know we're in for a ride. The first 3 movies work so well as a trilogy but 4 is like a factory reset and really feels like we're being setup for a new storyline. As it happens we didn't get a new trilogy - but this movie stands alone in the franchise as a terrific, almost singular story. Our new cast is amazing, Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere are particularly stellar, and our core returning cast deliver as always. "Oh, and by the way, your lemon squares taste like a**".
