3293: Women’s Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment in Pibor

Women Talk focused on livelihood opportunities for women and girls in the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, where years of conflict, flooding, and displacement have left many families struggling. Speakers said women carry much of the burden of caring for families, but are often excluded from education, income, and decision-making. The programme highlighted how skills training, small businesses, savings groups, and income-generating activities are helping women support their households, buy food, pay school costs, and gain confidence.
