Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, April Smith came to Alaska in 1997 as a young, newly married Airforce wife. Her husband immediately fell head over heels for Alaska and its fishing, hunting and amazing landscape. He decided to never leave and since he is her all time favorite person, she stayed, too. Both reverts to the faith, they were baptized Catholic as children and basically unchurched after that, until in 2001, April's husband had a sincere encounter with the Holy Spirit and they began a quest for Truth that led them to the Catholic Church.
