33. Arkansas- Rush Ghost Town, Christ of the Ozarks, and Bathhouses in Hot Springs

from Uncovering The Corners Of The World · host Karina Kosmala

Today it’s a ghost town, but back in the 1890s, the town of Rush was where people came from different states to mine for zinc (and they found a 13,000 lb zinc nugget). In Eureka Springs, there is a 67-foot tall statue of Christ of the Ozarks which was planned to be part of a religious theme park, but the theme park was never built. In Hot Springs National Park, are eight bathhouses where one of these bathhouse is still used a bathhouse today, while one of them was turned into a Brewery and Distillery.
