The Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous is a book of ideas and various contributors who wrote stories: https://aa.org/pages/en_US/read-the-big-book-and-twelve-steps-and-twelve-traditions Step 4: Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. "I was a poster child for A.A. … I picked up a white chip and I stayed clean and sober for six years, and, for at least a third of that I was very actively involved in A.A.. Now, that six years was followed up by a 5-year very, very dark relapse, and a lot of that was because of this trying to integrate AA philosophy in with Christianity and the inability to do that, and finally one of them won and praise God! God’s truth won out of all of that in my own heart and mind and I was transformed." -Quigley
